Frequently Asked Questions

Here's what we usually get asked

What exactly do you do?

I help Busy professionals and homeowners design and create native gardens that are sustainable, functional, and tailored to their unique vision. It’s all about turning your outdoor space into something that works for you and the environment.

Who is your service for?

Anyone who wants a native garden, whether you’re starting from scratch, revamping an existing space, or just need guidance to make it thrive. If you value sustainability and want a garden that’s low-maintenance but still stunning, you’re my kind of person.

How does your process work?

We start with a quick survey to understand your needs and preferences, then I create a tailored plan for your garden. From there, I guide you step-by-step, whether you want to DIY it or need help bringing it to life with a professional.

What makes you different from other options out there?

I focus on empowering you to create a garden that’s not just beautiful but also sustainable and functional. Plus, I make the process simple and approachable, no fluff, no jargon, just practical advice and design solutions that work for you personally. No cookie-cutter approach here.

Can you help me if I don’t know anything about gardening?

Absolutely. I break everything down into simple, actionable steps, so even if you’ve never touched a trowel, you’ll feel confident creating your garden.

What’s included in the tailored garden plan?

It covers everything from plant selection and layout to soil preparation, project management, and maintenance guides. All customised to your space, climate, and preferences. See Below for more detail

Do you work with landscapers to bring the garden to life?

Yes! I have a large connection of landscapers, hailing from that world before studying design at Burnley, who I trust and can recommend. As part of my design process we never leave you high and dry once the design is done. We seek and canvas 3 quotes from landscapers we trust, then run you through any questions you may have.

How long does it usually take to see results?

The design process is dependant on how long you sit with the key stages before providing feedback. An average Full Landscape Design takes around 6-10 weeks dependent of scope. Then Tendering is approx. a month, and build can be between 1 week to 6 months depending on land size, scope and budget.

You’ll start seeing progress within weeks of planting, but a fully established native garden typically takes 6–12 months, depending on the plants, conditions, and time of planting.

What if I don’t have a big budget—can I still work with you?

Of course. I can help you prioritise and phase your garden project to fit your budget, focusing on the most impactful changes first. Helping save costs in the long run and producing something you are comfortable with.

What kind of maintenance will be required, and how often?

Native gardens are low-maintenance by design. You’ll need to water and weed a bit in the beginning, but once established, they mostly take care of themselves. Rule of thumb for a typical design is every 3 months in the first year, then Bi-annually from then onwards.

Will my garden attract wildlife like birds or bees?

Yes! Native plants are fantastic for attracting local wildlife, so you’ll likely see more birds, bees, butterflies, insects and critters in your garden. We can design with the intent to bring it what you want to and repel what you don't.

How long before my garden becomes fully established?

Most native gardens hit their stride within 6–12 months, but some plants may take a little longer to mature. We provide 3D renders, usually within 3-5 years does your garden look like the 3D renders.

Why shouldn’t I just hire a landscaper to do this for me?

Just as the builder doesn't design a house, landscapers have no training in designing gardens. Some offer it, though you usually end up with a copied garden from their last job, and there is not a proper design process where you can influence the design. I empower you to create a garden that’s uniquely yours, and you get to see it before a shovel has been set. Not after when the costly mistakes have already been made.

What if I don’t have the time to work on my garden myself?

I can help you create a plan that fits your schedule, and if needed, recommend professionals to assist with the heavy lifting.

Can I really get the same results without spending a fortune?

Yes! By focusing on smart design and native plants, you can achieve stunning results without breaking the bank. That's is why design is the best investment you can make.
